Guest Bath Pt 1

"Keep Calm and Cary On" "Now Panic and Freak Out".  That's more like it.  I'm the girl who is always getting in over my head.  I bite off more than I can chew.  Projects always look easier than they really are.

So painlessly got all the wall paper boarder down in my guest bath.  Then I took the first piece of base board off with ease.  Then it got harder.  A lot harder.  Someday I plan to write an ebook and I fear for my readers.  Anyone who can understand my measurements and sketches will have to have an IQ over like 500.  Or some sort of decoder.

Here is the progress on the bathroom.  Now... the end of day two, I've decided to re-think my design.  Cause that's how I roll.

The Before Pics... And my paint sample.  See the boarder along the ceiling?

I contemplated several ways to remove the paper.  Ultimately I decided to use a scoring tool and hot water.  It worked great!

The first layer came off almost in one piece.  Then I had to get the second layer with the glue next.  But there was very little scraping involved.  I was pretty happy.

Next came removal of the base boards.  I didn't have a pry bar handy so I used my chisel.  Just be careful not to chip the wood.

Here is the floor boards removed.  I didn't bother with most the paper along the bottom of the room since it will be covered.  I just tore off anything that was already peeling or bubbled.

Here is the mess I had at this point.  Who knew such a little room could be so much work?
I had to show you the worlds longest screw in my toilet paper roll holder.  We wouldn't want the poo paper coming off the wall now would we?  "Help! It's fallen and I can't get up!"
Here is most of the paneling now up for a dry fit.  And this is where I change my mind.  After cutting all day I decide I don't want the boards 46in.  I'm cutting them down tomorrow!  Crazy I know.

Stay tuned for part 2!
